The short index is used to store the words in link texts that point to a page, the words in a page's title, and one or two other special things. But when they store the link text words in the short index, they are attributed to the target page, and not to the page that the link is on. In other words, if my page links to your page, using the link text "Dallas hotels", then the words "Dallas" and "hotels" are stored in the short index as though they appeared in your page - they belong to your page. If 100 pages link to your page, using those same words as link text, then your page will have a lot of entries in the short index for those particular words.

The long index is used to store all the other words on a page - its actual content.

And here's the point...

When Google processes a search query, they first try to get enough results from the short index. If they can't get enough results from there, they use the long index to add to what they have. It means that, if they can get enough results from the short index - that's the index that contains words in link texts and page titles - then they don't even look in the long index where the actual contents of pages are stored. Page content isn't even considered if they can get enough results from the link texts and titles index - the short index.

That is the reason why link texts are so powerful for Google rankings. They are much more powerful than page titles, because a page can have the words from only one title in the short index, but it can have the words from a great many link texts in there. That is the reason why one man's page ranks #1 for "miserable failure". All the link texts from all the pages that link to this man's page using the "miserable failure" link text, are in the short index - and they are all attributed to  HIS page.

Page titles are the second most powerful ranking factor, because they are stored in the short index.

Flipping houses is becoming increasingly popular. Unfortunately, the popularity of the idea is creating a bit of competition among those who would love to try it out for the first time. The increased competition often serves to drive up the costs involved in purchasing the profit, which only manages to lower the profit potential. However if you find a good deal and feel that the property is a good candidate for a flip you can ask yourself the following questions to help you determine whether or not the property really is a good candidate.

1. Have you had a qualified inspection and determined that there are only minor repairs that need to be made to the property and the landscaping? This is important because every repair that needs to be made will eat into your budget. You want to complete the project with as little extra money invested as possible in order to get the greatest return on your real estate investment possible.

2. Is the property suitable for the neighborhood? By this I mean is the property a three-bedroom house build for families in the middle of a retirement community or is it a one bedroom, cottage-style home in the midst of family houses? These aren't exactly a good match and can cause problems when it comes time to sell.

3. Can the neighborhood bear the price you need to bring in from the flip? If you are creating an upscale home in a marginal neighborhood you are almost guaranteeing a loss on your investment. You want to find a house in need of repairs selling cheap in a neighborhood of much better houses so that it can bring in the profit you are hoping to get when all is said and done.

4. Can you make the changes you envision for the house on your budget and without significantly changing the structure of the house? This is a biggie and one that often gets overlooked. You do not want to start knocking out walls or creating additions when flipping a house. That is something you should leave for the new owners. You want to make as few waves as possible and only make changes that will improve the value of the home.

5. Can you improve the value of the home enough to make it worth your while in a short amount of time? This is another big deal when it comes to a house flip. It takes time and money to make the changes that most "flippers" have in mind for their investment, especially first time flippers. Do you have the time to stick with it and the money to cover the carrying costs while you are in the process of making the changes?

6. Is the property in a high demand neighborhood, city, etc. for selling properties? Another common mistake is buying in areas that are hard sells for buyers. It is often quite simple to find lower priced properties that are attractive at first glance however; if you can't sell the property you purchase to flip it really defeats the purpose of putting all that time, effort, and money into making the improvements.

7. Can you do the work or will you need professionals and if so, will it still be cost effective? Be careful that you do not overestimate your abilities in this if possible. It is great to think you can put down a hardwood floor but the reality of doing it is quite another matter. Be sure you have a realistic understanding of the potential costs involved in the flip and whether or not the property will still be profitable in the worst-case scenario.

Answer these questions when checking out potential real estate investment and house flipping properties and you should be well on your way to a successful flip, at least as far as the selection of the property goes. You should also find a house to flip that you like as you will likely be spending a great deal of time there.

4) Create a good combination of numbers for your PIN or passwords. Make sure that you choose difficult to guess PIN. Birth dates, mother's maiden name, pet's name, usual or famous number combinations, etc should not be used for your PIN or passwords.

5) Regard all personal information personal. Do not give your personal information to anyone who sends you an email and a snail mail. Never give personal information over the phone. 6) Secure the area surrounding the ATM before using it. Make sure that nobody is around you watching while making transaction on the ATM. Make sure that there are no unusual equipment illegally attached to the ATM. There had been reports about electronic devices illegally attached to the card slot in the ATM. It has cameras on it which can record your PIN as you type it in.

7) Bills must be checked every month. All entries in the bill must be made under your permission. If there are charges included in the bill which you do not know, immediately report it to your credit institution and ask for an investigation.

8) Active and cancelled checks must be stored properly. There are banks that offer service like this.

9) Keep all important documents in your car properly. Do not put any thing which may contain information about you in sight inside your car. You may use the glove box as safety keep for your important things. Never leave it unlocked.

10) Secure all your personal information in your mobile phone and laptop with a password. Remember that laptops and mobile phones are personal gadgets that are to be used solely by you. So keep it personal.

You need to have realistic expectations before getting in of the time frame for completion, budget, and what you can do yourself and what you will need to hire professionals to handle. If you don't you can seriously impair your budget and the impact of the work you do as a whole.

5. Underestimating prices. This is another big deal because you need to have realistic expectations when it comes to the price of supplies, tools, labor, and equipment that will be required in order to complete your house flip. Failing to have a reasonable grasp of current prices can have a devastating impact on your budget and how much you can actually accomplish during the course of your house flip.

6. Great profits. While some do not necessarily consider this a risk, excessive profits do work to impair your ability to pull out your wallet at the bank or anywhere else along the way. While we could be all so lucky as to call that a risk it is a very possible outcome of your house flipping attempt as long as you spend at least as much time in planning your flip as you do in executing it.

You should understand that there is no such thing as a no risk flip or a no risk real estate investment. You cannot eliminate the risk all together for the types of rewards that stand to be made through real estate investing and flipping houses.
